Elvira Zambrana Horvei
Elvira Horvei is an interdisciplinary artist who works with sculpture and photography. She attended the Artist Residency Program at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2023 after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Parsons School of Design in 2023.

“I” was made and presented at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture summer of 2023. Photographs of sculptures made of plastic bottles were UV printed onto PVC plastic sheets that then were constructed into a large inflatable sculpture photographed in an open field at nighttime. The 4x5 positive was placed inside an illuminated box, built using mechanisms of reflections so that the viewer could only see a representation of the image. This sculpture was installed at the height of the artist’s heart, in a dilapidated shed.
